Hob, Stove, Range, Aga, Inset, Flush...

… there are various options.
Below we will detail these for each type.
Free-Standing, a range, stove, Aga, Rayburn, Lacanche, Everhot… or there cooker that stands between the worktops and cupboards always have the edge of the worktop polished/honed finish to take the sharpness away.
When considering the height of the cooker in relation to the worktops, the majority of customers choose to have the same level running through. This is something to bear in mind when fitting the cooker and to adjust the feet acordingly to the worktop thickness.
If having a profile mould to the worktop as in the picture, we tend to end this at the front edge and then return with either a chamfered edge or pencil round depending on personal preference, it stops the crumbs collecting.
Inset – as the name suggests are inset into the worktop. A hole is cut in eithter the Granite or Quartz for the hob to fit through and the glass or metal top sits on the edge of the stone. The surface of these hobs will sit proud of the worktop.
If the hob is located in a length of worktop longer than the slab of material then this is an ideal place to joint the run, giving an uninterupted worktop area either side.
Flush – Rebated – With some inset hobs there is an option to have these flush fitting so the surface of the hob is level with the worktop – sometimes known as rebated.
With this fixing style we require the hob at the workshop so that we can check it is fitting flush before leaving to be fitted.
